Continuing Professional Development Scheme (CPD)

CPD – not just for those belonging to a regulatory body!

The Association of Renal Technologists encourages all members to actively engage in CPD at every opportunity.
CPD is essential to ensure as far as possible that someone remains up to date with current developments and good practice within their profession and as a result continues to be ‘fit to practise’ within their profession and speciality.

The ART provides documents and templates to help members maintain a continuous, up-to-date and accurate record of CPD activities.  These documents include:

If you are registered with a body such as the RCT then these documents are a recognised means of evidence if you find yourself selected for audit.
The RCT is open to all UK-based persons employed, or seeking employment, in a technical role in the field of medical physics, clinical engineering, medical equipment maintenance or medical equipment manufacturing.  Further details of how to register with the RCT can be found here.
