About Us
The purpose of ART is to promote the field of work shared by technicians, technologists, engineers, scientists and other members of the multi-professional team working within the sphere of Renal Technology. The Association has over 200 members and are represented in many Renal Clinics throughout the United Kingdom. Among its members are employees of the National Health Service and private sectors.

ART milestones include
- Organising the ART Annual National Meetings well subscribed by Association of Renal Industries companies
- Having a direct feed into the NHS Workforce Review for Renal Technology and into the NHS Workforce Review for Renal Services.
- Providing significant input into the Modernising Healthcare Science Careers project.
- One of the founding bodies on the Voluntary Register for Clinical Technologists (VRCT) along with IPEM and IIE
- ART have had a representative on BSI committees for Peritoneal and Haemodialysis since 1982
- ART have had a representative on the executive of the Federation for Healthcare Science since its inception in 2003
- Providing a technical representative on EDTNA
- Supporting Technical Meetings at Scotland and Ireland National Renal Association Meetings
- Participating in BRS Workforce Reviews
- Regularly represented on NICE Technical Reviews providing Technical Support
- Instrumental in producing the DoH/ MSC project approved Training Scheme for Renal Technologists
- Instrumental in the publication of ‘Renal Replacement Therapy: An Introduction for Technicians’
- We have provided Agenda for Change advice for our members.
- Regular publication of ARTERY Newsletter providing a forum for sharing information among our members
