During that time I’ve worked in research and development of periscope optics testing for the MoD, as technical trainer for International Technical Service group in Gambro Sweden specialising in Water Treatment Systems, and (after 16 years with Gambro as service engineer) in Renal Technical Services at Guys & St Thomas’ NHS Trust in London, Salford Royal NHS Trust, BBraun Renal Services and St. Georges NHS Trust in London. I currently work in Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary Renal Unit. Since 2005 I have been part of the Association of Renal Technologists (ART) committee, specialising in website admin, regional training and Patient Safety, and I currently represent ART on the National Patient Safety Committee. I strongly believe in supporting the delivery of lifelong learning and putting patients first. |

Ian Wilde - Website Admin
I started in the NHS in 1995 securing a trainee MTO position as it was known back then within the Medical Engineering department at Manchester Royal Infirmary. In 1997 Medical Engineering took over the Renal Technical Service which is where I got my first taste of dialysis equipment. In 2001 the renal unit regained control of the technical service and I had to make a choice of stay with renal or move back to Medical Engineering full time. I stayed within renal becoming joint head of service in 2009 and then sole head of service in 2013. I left the NHS in 2022 to join Fresenius Medical Care UK as a regional manager and then moved to technical lead for UK&I in 2024. I have been an ART Committee member since 2014. I am also partly responsible for the ART website administration. |
